Figure skating is more than a sport.  It is a lifelong journey of discovery, resilience, creativity and self-expression.

For over three decades, I’ve helped athletes discover not only how to skate, but how to grow.  Every skater deserves to feel seen, supported and inspired.  That mindset shapes every lesson I teach.  I adapt to the learning style, personality, pace, needs and availability of each skater.  I listen to what they say and what is left unsaid.  That way, I can adjust instruction so progress is steady, meaningful and appropriately challenging.

I focus on building strong fundamentals the right way.  Students won’t just learn what to do, they will learn why it works and how it builds into future skills.  There are no shortcuts.  There is no substitute for time on the ice.  But lessons should provide the foundation and understanding for productive practice.

I love choreography.  True artistry is more than a checklist of steps.  I create programs that intertwine musicality, expression and technical prowess so skaters of all levels feel like authentic performers.  The result is choreography that is enjoyable to learn, challenging to master, memorable to watch and rewarding to skate.

With a background in school counseling, I support not just the physical side of skating, but the emotional and mental aspects as well.  Lessons often include strategies for managing confidence, regulation nerves and staying focused under pressure.  My students learn how to grow through challenges, not just push past them.

I work well with skaters who appreciate thoughtful, patient teaching and want a coach who explains concepts clearly and thoroughly.  Many of my skaters range from kids who don’t thrive in a team sport, creative athletes who want to be uniquely challenged, adults returning or first arriving to the sport and any athlete navigating anxiety, perfectionism or confidence struggles.

I care deeply about this sport and every athlete who steps on the ice.  Generations of skaters in Central Ohio know me and many have surely gotten a smile and a high five from me.  Whether the goal is strong foundational technique, artistic expression, competition readiness or simply a healthier relationship with the sport, I provide expertise, structure, and consistency.  So if your athlete is looking to learn their first one foot glide, explore the world of ice dancing, prepare for advanced jumps and spins or simply challenge their artistic side, I would love to support their journey!
